Thank you to Volunteer Paul

Our longest standing volunteer of just over 3 years, Paul Stephenson, has his last shift with us for a while today. We celebrated with a team morning tea enjoying delicious baked goods from our favourite local french bakery.

Commencing in February 2012, just a few weeks after our Operations Manager Amy Stace-Smith (nee Stephenson) began her Gould League journey, Paul has been instrumental in supporting the growth of Gould League. Starting at 3 days a week, and now regularly 1 day a week, Paul, a retired accountant, has worn many hats during his time with us. From handyman repairs to annual budget preparation, invoicing schools and bookshop customers, packaging bookshop orders, laminating posters, managing our inventory and more, including mentoring our Operations Manager in the financial end of the business and providing unwavering moral support.

Noticing any clues? You guessed it! Paul is Amy’s father, and his hiatus from Gould League volunteering is timed with her fast approaching maternity leave, as he simultaneously takes ‘grandfather’s leave’!

His friendly nature, expert skills and bright smile will be missed by his fellow Tuesday volunteers Lorraine and Robyn, and our sessional educators but much appreciated by his loving daughter and soon-to-be 2nd grandchild in their first 12 months.

Thank you, Paul, for the all time and skills you’ve donated!
