The aim of the Waste Smart Schools and Families Project is to test new approaches to engaging schools, early education centres and their families in practices and behaviours to reduce waste going to landfill (especially organic waste), as well as recycling.
Schools and early education centres taking part in the pilot will be accredited in the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Waste Module and will achieve partial completion of the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Core Sustainability Module.
A series of take-home activities and fun interactive games will be available for families to use with their children to explore and learn more.
