Vegecation Winter Wonderland

It may be cold out, but Melbourne’s backyard beasts will be warm as toast this July when Centro Box Hill opens the gates to a Vegecation Winter Wonderland this school holidays. Come join us as we explore the fun to be had in your backyard during the colder months, with bugs, vegetables and maybe even a surprise penguin or two!

With so much to explore and do the kids will love learning about their gardens at the free educational holiday program, running 9 – 13 July 2012. The kids can sit on the grass as Gould League educators show some of the amazing things that create warm places in our gardens, let them try their hands at planting hearty winter vegetables to take home and get up close and personal with some special critters in the bug display. There will also be an interactive performance twice daily and a colouring competition with your chance to win one of 5 family ice skating passes, courtesy of to Medibank Icehouse.

There will be a resident horticulturalist on hand to show the kids exactly how to take care of their vegetable seedlings and what to do with the yummy vegetables when they grow!
