The roles we offer are open to people aged above 18 years old who have experience specified as per the role advertised. If the role is based at our Cheltenham site we have a dedicated workspace, and tearoom for our volunteers and staff. Casual Environmental Educator -Toolangi State Forest and Kinglake – PAID
We are currently recruiting for two Casual Environmental Educators for Toolangi State Forest. Not essential but well suited to appropriately qualified local Taungurung people as traditional owners of the Kulin nation.
Gould League Sessional Environmental Educators should be:
- Appropriately qualified and/or experienced i.e. Tertiary qualification in Science/Environment/ Geography/Conservation/Education or with equivalent work experience.
- Highly effective and confident educators who utilise a variety of strategies to engage students and address visiting teacher needs
- Knowledgeable and positive about the environment and sustainable practices
Educators must hold a current Working with Children Card and First Aid Certificate. Full details can be found here. Applications close January 16, 2023. Role to commence Term 1, 2023. Full on the job training with detailed Educator notes provided for all programs with ongoing PD.
Casual Environmental Educator – Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary and Cheltenham Sustainability Centre – PAID
We are currently recruiting for 4 Casual Environmental Educators for our Cheltenham Sustainability Centre and Ricketts points Marine Sanctuary. The opportunity also exists to deliver programs at Toolangi State Forest and school incursions across Greater Melbourne.
Gould League Sessional Environmental Educators should be:
- Appropriately qualified and/or experienced i.e. Tertiary qualification in Science/Environment/ Geography/Conservation/Education or with equivalent work experience.

VOLUNTEERING AT GOULD LEAGUE
Here at Gould League, we truly value the time and dedication our volunteers give to strengthen our organisation towards our commitment to connecting people to nature. Our roles are suited to tertiary students, retirees, people returning to the workplace or people on a career break. We offer on-the-job training and ongoing support to ensure our volunteers feel valued and welcome. Additionally, we invite our volunteers to participate in many of our PDs and events we hold throughout the year to offer them learning opportunities, strengthen their connection to the Gould League, and give them a deeper understanding of the value of their role.

Admin Support – VOLUNTARY
We are looking for an experienced person with a range of office skills to assist our manager with general administrative tasks. Ideally, you will have an eye for detail, good administrative skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The role requires between 4 – 8 hours per week which can be done in one day or split over two days. Bookshop Manager – VOLUNTARY
Do you have administrative and computer skills and would like to give back to the community by running the Gould League Online Bookshop? This role involves processing, packing and dispatching orders, along with some data entry and general administrative tasks. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, good customer service and the ability to work independently. Historical Archives Coordinator – VOLUNTARY
We are looking for an experienced person to assist us with decades of historical archives held at our Cheltenham site. Ideally, you will have a passion for history and a strong level of experience in cataloguing, organising and filing a range of materials and resources. Stakeholder and Marketing Coordinator – VOLUNTARY
We are looking for a part-time volunteer to help identify and collate potential stakeholders e.g., local government agencies, and community groups to promote our programs and services. We welcome the generous contribution of time and skills to support us achieve our goals. While a regular weekly commitment allows us to plan and involve you in more exciting and ongoing work, even a day or two can make a big difference!
