FREE Incursions for Cardinia Shire Council
Cardinia Shire Council has partnered with Gould League, Australia’s oldest environmental charity, to provide waste incursions for 3 & 4 Year old Kinder students and School students from Foundation through to Year 10 from public/government schools.
Gould League has been proudly conducting environmental incursions and excursions for schools since 1909. All programs are aligned with the curriculum, helping teachers reinforce lessons in science, geography, citizenship, and sustainability. These programs aim to connect students with the natural world and empower them to take practical steps toward living more sustainably.
You have been directed to this page to book your preferred incursion. Please note the following:
- Sessions offered are subject to availability and budget
- All sessions must be completed by June 30, 2026
- Each government school is eligible for funding for up to three sessions in one day per financial year. Groups should not exceed 30 students per session.
- Government funded Kinder groups can book up to 3 sessions on different days to accommodate for split program days. Groups should not exceed 25 students per session.
- Additional programs (more than three) can be booked, but your ELC or school will be responsible for additional program fees.
The Kinder program duration is 45 minutes
The School program duration for F – Level 4 is 90 minutes.
The School program duration for Level 5 to 10 is 2 hours. There is an option to extend these programs to 4 hours to deepen student learning experiences, however, this is at your own school’s expense. The fee for the additional 2 hours is $180 per group, and schools will be billed directly for this.

If you choose to undertake more than the three FREE sessions provided by Cardinia Shire Council, you will receive an invoice for a deposit for the remaining fees, which will be confirmed upon your payment.
