‘Halve Our Waste’ with Frankston City Council

Halve_our_waste_logoGould League are excited to announce that we have been engaged by Frankston City Council to deliver programs to 25 Schools and Early Learning Centres within the municipality to support them in reducing their waste as part of the ‘Halve Our Waste’ program.

Participating schools are funded by Council to receive:

  • up to two free compost bins OR a compost bin and a worm farm
  • up to two free recycling bins
  • a toolkit all about composting, worm farming and recycling and how to do these at school
  • an activity kit with printable activity resources
  • access to online resources
  • a customised workshop for each school or preschool, on how to reduce waste at school – delivered by Gould League as an incursion, or excursion to our Sustainability Centre in Moorabbin.

In exchange, schools and preschools commit to:

  • establishing a food scraps collection program and recycling collection program in at least one class room
